Qualification: AQA GCSE Art and Design
The qualification and outcome will depend on how long a student spends at Oswaldtwistle School and also on how many hours they spend each week on their work.
Overview of the course
The course is made up of four main objectives which give students the opportunity to learn and practice skills such as various styles of painting, drawing skills, 3D design, textiles and using a variety of media and resources. Students will also be given every encouragement and opportunity to be creative, experiment, develop ideas, make mistakes and learn from them. Students will study and research various artists and styles of art. Students will undertake two main projects and build up a portfolio of artwork and finally complete a controlled assessment at the end of the course.
Possible Progression Route
Students may progress to further and higher levels of study including A Level at college and BA (Hons) degree at university.
Careers including teaching, all aspects of design (including fashion design and interior design), tattoo art and working as a freelance artist.
